Terms of Service

By creating an account you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.

1. Who can use it

You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these Terms. One account per person.

2. What People's Exchange is

A free community app to trade or give away everyday goods and simple services. We are not a party to any trade, we don't inspect items, and we don't guarantee the safety, quality or legality of anything offered. You trade at your own risk and are responsible for your own safety. Always meet in public places.

3. Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users

No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, scams, or illegal activity. You may not post or trade: weapons or ammunition; alcohol, tobacco, vapes or drugs; medications or supplements; recalled or unsafe baby items; opened, homemade or expired food; stolen goods; or anything for cash (this is for trading and giving). Our automatic filter blocks some of this, and users can report and block anyone. We review reports within 24 hours and will remove content and ban users who break these rules.

4. Your content

You own what you post. You give us permission to display it in the app so the service works. Don't post anything you don't have the right to share, or anyone else's private information.

5. People's Exchange Plus (optional subscription)

The app is free with ads. Plus removes ads for $4.99 per month (or local equivalent), billed through your Apple ID or Google Play account. It renews automatically each month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel any time in your Apple or Google account settings (or Settings > Plus in the app). Cancelling stops future charges; refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. Trading, matching, messages and safety tools are always free; Plus only removes ads.

6. Ending your account

You can delete your account in Settings at any time. We may suspend or remove accounts that break these Terms or put others at risk. Deleting the app does not cancel a Plus subscription; cancel it through Apple or Google.

7. Disclaimers and limits

The app is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, People's Exchange isn't liable for losses or injuries arising from trades or meetups between users, and our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the past 12 months (which may be $0).

8. Intellectual property: please don't copy

People's Exchange™ is owned by Anthony Hall. Everything on this website and in the app belongs to him, including the content, design, text, graphics, logos, the two-way "I need" / "I have" matching experience as implemented, the software, and the source code. All of it is protected by copyright and trademark law.

Without Anthony Hall's written permission, you may not:

Your use of the app gives you a personal, limited right to use it as intended. It doesn't transfer any ownership to you. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

Report infringement. If you see someone copying People's Exchange, email support@peoplesexchange.app.

Copyright (DMCA) notices. To report content that you believe infringes your copyright, or ours, send a notice to our copyright agent at support@peoplesexchange.app with the subject "DMCA Notice". Include: your name and contact information; a description of the copyrighted work; where the infringing material is located (a link or screenshot); a statement that you believe in good faith the use isn't authorized; a statement that your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you're the owner or authorized to act for the owner; and your physical or electronic signature.

9. Apple-specific terms

These Terms are between you and People's Exchange, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content and has no duty to provide support. Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies.

10. Law

Nevada law applies, except where your local consumer law says otherwise. We may update these Terms and will tell you in the app if changes are important.
